Meet Leanne, Wayne & Their Siamese Boys

When Leanne posted a photo of her new kitten Leroy on Instagram over a decade ago, she had no idea it would change her feed forever.

What began as a personal account quickly shifted, followers weren’t interested in sunsets anymore. They wanted the cat.

“I decided to put a photo up of Leroy when he was probably a kitten... and everyone loved it. Then they didn’t want to see my sunset photos anymore.”

Today, Leanne and her partner Wayne are the proud pawrents to three Siamese cats,  Leroy, Teddi, and Neo, each with their own distinct personality, quirks, and routines.

Their home is filled with climbing, cuddling, and constant conversation (because if you know Siamese cats, you know the chat is real).

This is the story of how one kitten photo turned into a daily love letter to life with cats.

The Boys Behind the Feed

Each of Leanne and Wayne’s cats has their own way of taking up space in the home, and in their hearts.

Leroy – The Grandfather

At 13 (soon to be 14), Leroy is the wise, gentle elder of the trio.

He's been with Leanne and Wayne the longest and has seen the household through all its seasons.

After losing one eye earlier this year, he continues to move with confidence and calm never in a rush, but always with purpose. He’s a daddy’s boy, through and through.

Teddi – The Reformed Rascal

Teddi came to them via the RSPCA as a 10-week-old kitten with street smarts and a boisterous streak.

In his early days, he brought chaos, curiosity, and a flair for climbing. Over time, he’s mellowed into a big softie, though he still loves perching high and quietly judging the rest of the house.

Neo – The Mommy’s Boy

Neo (short for Neapolitan, thanks to his chocolate-cream coloring and pink nose) is the youngest and the most playful.

He’s obsessed with fetch (even if it’s just a scrunched-up paper ball) and rarely strays far from Leanne. He’s also the instigator of many a game with his brothers, usually from behind a facade, paw ready to swipe.

Building a Home That Works for Cats

With three indoor cats, and three very active personalities, Leanne and Wayne had to get creative about how to make their space work for their boys, not just around them.

They gradually transformed their lounge into a kind of cat-friendly obstacle course, layering in vertical spaces, climbing poles, and soft landings so their boys could explore, rest, and play freely.

One of their favourite additions? A wall-mounted shelf setup that allows the cats to:

  • Sprint up poles

  • Cross the wall via connected shelves

  • Drop down onto the couch (or retreat for a nap up top)

And the shelves don’t just serve the younger cats.

Even with one eye, Leroy still claims the upper platforms for quiet time.

“He uses the wall just like the others,” Wayne said, “and it’s great knowing age isn’t a barrier for him.”

Playtime, Mealtime, and Routine Chaos

Every day in the household brings a new form of entertainment.

Neo is fetch-obsessed and will chase anything that can be thrown. Leroy and Teddi go wild for wand toys, especially when Wayne’s the one waving them.

To keep things fresh, Leanne and Wayne rotate their toys.

“We put some away for a while, and when they come back out, it’s like they’re brand new again.”

And at mealtimes?

Well, that’s Leroy’s moment to shine. He's a messy eater, but Leanne laughs about it.

“The mats make clean-up so easy!”

Expanding Outside - Safely

The indoor setup is only half the story. Because they live on a main road, free-roaming isn’t an option, but that hasn’t stopped Leanne and Wayne from planning a catio expansion.

“We’re looking at putting up a second wall out there,” Leanne explained, “so they can move through levels outside as well, all while staying safe.”

For them, it’s all about offering the boys variety, stimulation, and freedom, without the risks.

It’s About the Cats, Always

Throughout the conversation, one thing is clear, Leanne and Wayne didn’t just adapt their lives to their cats, they built a life around them.

Whether it’s designing a space where all three cats can express themselves, keeping playtime fresh and meaningful, or making sure their oldest boy still gets to do the things he loves, every decision they make is about creating a better everyday life for the boys.

And while they’ve added clever tools along the way, soft-surfaced shelves, easy to clean mats, and wall-mounted hideouts, the real story here isn’t the products. It’s the love.

“We watch them every day and just think... this is their home as much as ours.”
